Some historical monuments of Armenia must be savedDecember 3, 2009 - 20:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - "Virtually all historical monuments in the territory of Armenia need intervention, most of them - immediate, and some monuments need to be saved," Dorvart Arushanyan, representative of the Agency of historical and cultural monuments, told a press conference on December 3. According to him, if restoration of the monument is not undertaken today, we can loose information it keeps inside and later much more efforts and funds will be required to recover it. 24 thousand 250 historical monuments of Armenia are under the protection of the various stakeholders. Armenia's Ministry of Culture is responsible for protection of those 18 thousand historical monuments being in state ownership. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
