Genocide Victims Memorial to host protest rally against Holy Cross liturgySeptember 17, 2010 - 15:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On September 19, the Memorial of Genocide Victims in Tsitsernakaberd will host a protest rally against the Turkish “show”, a liturgy to be held at Holy Cross Church on Akhtamar. The rally was initiated by the Armenian Genocide Museum. Following the rally, a holy mass will be held by the spiritual council of Constantinople Patriarchate of Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Aram Ateshian. The first liturgy in 95 years will be served in Holy Cross Church on September 19. Despite promises, Turkish authorities disallowed placement of the cross on the dome of the church. The Holy Sees of Cilicia and Echmiadzin, Jerusalem Patriarchy, as well as a number of Diaspora organizations refused to participate in the ceremony.
