During his visit, Armenian leader had meetings with EU and NATO officials.

“There should not be demarcation lines and closed borders in Europe,” the Armenian President said.

“The Eastern Partnership is a powerful vehicle for bringing the countries involved closer to the EU and each other,” the European Union's President said.

The EU supports peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict under the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group.

“Armenia widely aligned itself with cooperation on foreign and security policy (CFSP) declarations and is generally very active in cooperating on CFSP-related issues,” Progress Report Armenia says.

It also agreed on the position to be adopted by the EU within the joint committees established by the partnership cooperation agreements with a view to establishing new subcommittees in several policy areas.
