Kocharian: No Winners and Losers Can Be in Constitution Referendum

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Robert Kocharian today sent a congratulation message to the people on the decision to make changes to the Constitution of Armenia via nation-wide referendum, reported the Press Service of the Armenian leader. The message specifically says, «Dear compatriots, I congratulate you on the resolute and unambiguous «yes» that was said during the referendum on making changes to the Constitution of Armenia. It is a big victory in strengthening democracy and forming civil society in Armenia. I thank all those citizens, who were not indifferent to the future of the country and actively participated in the referendum. I consider there can be no winners or losers in a referendum. The Constitution is our common one and today time has come to work together to elaborate and pass legal acts, which will realize the constitutional provisions. I again congratulate all of the people with the changed Constitution. People saying «yes» evidences the public need for deepening reforms in the country. The reformed Constitution facilitates the way to prosperity of Armenia in 21st century.»
