Rafael Huseynov "blabbed out" why PACE rapporteur's regional visit was frustrated

PanARMENIAN.Net - The visit of Mr Edward O'Hara, the rapporteur of the PACE Sub-Committee on the Cultural Heritage will be discussed during the organization's fall session.

"Mr O'Hara planned to arrive in Azerbaijan first. However, he wanted to leave for Nagorno Karabakh from Armenia. It's inadmissible for us and we have announced our conditions," said Rafael Huseynov, a member of the Azeri delegation to PACE.

He said Azerbaijan would like the rapporteur to examine the cultural and historical monuments in Nagorno Karabakh. "Nagorno Karabakh is a inseparable part of Azerbaijan and the rapporteur should arrive there via Azerbaijan. Mr O'Hara represents an international organization and we will ensure his security," Huseynov emphasized, Zerkalo (Mirror) Baku-based newspaper reports.

Mr Edward O'Hara was scheduled to visit the South Caucasus late 2005. The date was postponed several times. Finally, the visit was fixed for the period of August 29-September 6. However, upon learning the agenda Azerbaijan thwarted these plans.
