April 24 is an official commemoration day in Crimean Autonomy

PanARMENIAN.Net - Crimean Armenians commemorated Armenian Genocide 94th anniversary . Over 500 held public prayer, meetings and a march. Participants of the event waved Armenian and Crimean Republic Flags as well as posters bearing mottos: "Turkey, both your present and future demand recognition of the Armenian Genocide", "Recognition of the Armenian Genocide is an act of historical justice", "Armenian Genocide recognition will open a way to EU for Turkey".



"Recent events inspire us with hope that movement towards Armenian Genocide recognition has already started. We believe we can achieve our goal, and that Turkish people can turn a difficult page of the past and normalize ties with Armenia," Oleg Garibyan, Crimean Armenians Society Chairman told a news conference.



The Armenian Genocide has been recognized by many countries. Ukraine hasn't officially recognized the Armenian Genocide, but Crimean Supreme Rada announced April 24 as an official commemoration day in Crimean Autonomy, Yerkramas Russian Armenians' newspaper reported.
