Abkhazia's opposition wants to rule without Russia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Abkhazia's opposition wants Russia to guard the republic, finance it, construct roads, but still rule without Russia, which is impossible, Abkhazia President Sergey Bagapsh stated.

"It's utter cynicism to show such hostile reception to Russian border guards. Those people are here to protect us. Russian peacemakers has been here since 1994. Armenia pays 50% to Russia for placing Russian borders guards at some part of Armenian border. We have Russian border guards free of charge - what else could we wish for?

Russia acknowledged us and provided our security, incurring the whole world's anger upon its head. If it's a partnership then it should be on equal terms. Our opposition understands these are correct measures. The opposition just wants us to take the responsibility for implementing those measures," Kommersant cited Bagapsh as saying.
