Not recognizing elections in NKR, EU suppresses democracy in the republic

PanARMENIAN.Net - European Movement of Artsakh NGO said that the statement made by EU High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Baroness Catherine Ashton aims to suppress democracy in the Artsakh Republic.

“The statement was made under pressure of Azerbaijan. Moreover, it was prepared by dilettantes. We would like to remind Brussels, which seems to neglect Azerbaijan’s constants threats of war, that a country assumes rights and responsibilities from the moment of its proclamation but not recognition. The people of Artsakh have chosen democracy as a way of development,” the organization said.
