RA President: Armenian-German cooperation is considered to be important element in process of European integration

PanARMENIAN.Net - During his visit to Germany, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel. The development of bilateral relations and cooperation opportunities in a multilateral format were in the focus of the meeting.

Mr. Sargsyan noted that high-level bilateral meetings contribute to a political dialogue and allow boosting the two countries' relations in all fields.

He added that the Armenian-German cooperation is considered to be an important element in the process of the European integration.

The parties also referred to the development of trade and economic ties, noting that the existence of 80 companies with German capital in Armenia serves as a good basis for expanding cooperation in investments field. Referring to the financial and technical aid provided by the German government to Armenia, the President said that German is the second by the volume of assistance program among donor-countries cooperating with Armenia. Mr. Sargsyan noted that these programs are of keen importance for implementation of reforms in various fields of the country's economic and public life, the RA President's press service reported.
