National Statistical Service of Armenia reports slight upsurge in emigration rate

PanARMENIAN.Net - 12.013 people emigrated out of Armenia in 2010 against 12.374 in 2009.

The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports an upsurge in emigration rate over the last few years.

As an expert at Armenian parliament’s social and economic department Sergei Vardanyan noted, 80% of Armenians leave the country because of social situation and injustice. “The remaining 20% leave in search of stability elsewhere,” the expert observed.
