TURKISH PRESS INFORMS THAT FRENCH SENATE MAY DISCUSS THE RESOLUTION ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE

PanARMENIAN.Net - 26.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Turkish Daily News writes that in early November the French Senate may bring the resolution on the Armenian Genocide into its agenda.

The daily writes that the Socialist and Communist senators in the French Senate have agreed to make an effort to forward the resolution into the agenda of probably November 7 session. The French Parliament previously approved a resolution recognizing the Genocide, but the Senate has not debated it, following the French government's advising senators not to bring it forward.

In Italy, the resolution was on Parliament's October 23 agenda, but Parliament was unable to debate it due to lack of sufficient time. But Deputy Giancarlo Pagliarini, who is sponsoring the resolution, has managed to bring it into Parliament's November 1 agenda. --0--
