RA Prime Minister’s visit to Iran to contribute to boosting Armenian-Iranian economic ties

PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 26, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran.

PM Sargsyan stated that the official visit to Iran will serve as a new impetus for intensification of the Armenian-Iranian economic ties, which currently are behind the political relations, the RA governmental press service reported. The parties discussed economic programs presenting mutual interest.

Tigran Sargsyan confirmed Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s invitation to the Iranian leader to visit Armenia, the visit terms to be determined later.

Mr. Ahmadinejad noted for his part that Iran is ready to facilitate all initiatives in this direction. The parties attached importance to cooperation in the banking field and establishment of joint enterprises. It was noted that Armenia may become an important bridge for boosting ties between Iran and CIS countries.
