Atomenergoproekt OJSC to be general designer of Armenian NPP

PanARMENIAN.Net - Atomenergoproekt OJSC has rich experience of participation in foreign projects, specifically, it is the general designer of Bushehr NPP in Iran, Kudankulam NPP in India and Belene NPP in Bulgaria.

Besides, the company will implement design works of the Nuclear Power Plant in Armenia, the company’s press service reported.

On August 20, 2010, Russia and Armenia signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in construction of new energy units with VVER-1000 reactors in Armenia.

Armenian-Russian Metsamorenergoatom CJSC will be the customer and owner of the NPP new energy units, as well as electric power produced by them, while Atomstroyexport CJSC will be the general contractor.

Selection of producers, composition and configuration of the basic equipment for the new energy units and contractors of construction and installation works will be agreed by the two parties separately.
