Chairman of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA) Ararat Ghukasyan congratulated employees of the banking field, wishing them health and success. “A healthy banking system is a guarantee of healthy economy,” he said. Heads of Armenia’s banks, employees of the Central Bank of Armenia, as well as credit organizations were among the guests. As per the November 22, 2003, decision of the RA government, November 22 is declared Bank Employee Day . Speaking about achievements in the country’s banking system, Ghukasyan noted that it has managed to overcome the crisis period. According to him, formation of a competitive environment in lending is the biggest achievement in 2010. “To attract good clients, banks have managed to form a competitive loan field and struggle for provision of best services,” Ghukasyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. As for further plans, he said that the UBA will continue working to improve the banking system, reform the banking legislation. “Specifically, we want to improve the environment, in which creditors operate,” he said.
