The program covers all fields of economy, including information technologies, gas supply, environmental protection, construction industry, road transport, banking and financial sectors, food industry, etc, Azaryan said in Yerevan on December 18. Azaryan noted that the program is aimed at excluding the current barriers in trade and fulfilling obligations before international structures. The Director added that currently there are 18,000 standards in the country, out of which 2,000 standards have been suspended "due to their incompliance with the requirements of progressive innovative world." 660 new standards are envisaged to be introduced under the strategic program of Armenia's national standards compliance for 2011-2015.
