Transport industry is a priority for sustainable development of economy, that is why the government’s efforts are aimed to secure favorable conditions for the companies operating in the field, Armenian Transport and Communication Minister said in his address. According to Manuk Vardanyan, the republic’s transport legislation is liberal, as the Ministry took certain improvement measures in addition to participation in North-South freeway project. For his part, IRU Secretary General Martin Marmy said that Armenia should closely cooperate with countries which can provide an outlet to the sea. He also attached importance to the memorandum of understanding signed by the Armenian Ministry of Transport and IRU on development of road haulage in Armenia, Asia and Europe and described it as very useful for Armenia.
