CIS specialists discuss problems of communication field regulation in Tsaghkadzor

PanARMENIAN.Net - The seminar: “New Technologies and Their Impact on Regulation,” of the CIS countries, which are members of the International Telecommunication Union, kicked off in Tsaghkadzor on December 14.

Armenian Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Walter Marutyan said in his remarks that the seminar theme is topical for Armenia, while materials presented by leading specialists will serve as a basis for adoption of efficient decisions, the press service of the RA Ministry of Transport and Communication told PanARMENIAN.Net

He added that liberalization of the Armenian market of telecommunications over the past 5 years resulted not only in drop of prices for communication services, but also served as an unprecedented signal for introduction of new technological decisions.

Specifically, according to the Deputy Minister, in 2009 all three mobile operators of Armenia started exploiting 3G network, while mobile communication based on 4G technologies will be launched this year, what will also enhance competition, leading to improvement in communication quality.

Besides, active changes have taken place in the fixed-line communication – communication via Fiber To The Home technology is provided by several operators, said Marutyan.

The three-day seminar brought together leading specialists from over 10 countries, who will present experience of their countries, outlooks of communication field development, as well as problems, which need to be solved for creation and efficient exploitation of new generation networks.
