European figure skating champ Plushenko in talks with new choreographerMarch 31, 2012 - 18:14 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - European figure skating champion Evgeny Plushenko is in talks to team up with choreographer Pasquale Camerlengo, the Italian said on Saturday, March 31. Camerlengo has worked with many of the sport’s top names, including leading skaters Daisuke Takahashi and Michal Brezina. “Currently Plushenko and I are at the negotiation stage,” Camerlengo told RIA Novosti. “I can’t confirm for definite that I will create programs for Plushenko for the duration of the upcoming seasons, but Evgeny has certainly expressed that wish and came to me with this offer.” The main obstacle to deal would be Camerlengo finding the time in a packed schedule, he said, and he declined to say when he would make his decision. Plushenko, 29, won three Olympic medals, three world titles and seven European titles, in a career punctuated by two lengthy breaks from skating. He returned to the sport in late 2011 after a period away due to injuries and suspension, and has since won gold at the 2012 European championships and Russian national championships. Plushenko's current choreographer is David Avdish, who has worked with the Russian for years.
