Khanty-Mansiysk to host Rapid Chess Championship 2013

PanARMENIAN.Net - FIDE presidential council approved Khanty-Mansiysk Russian city’s bid for hosting the World Rapid Chess Championship in 2013. The decision is based on the regional center's extensive experience in organizing such events.

Four World Chess Cups were held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Yugra over the past few years, while in 2010 the region hosted 39th World Chess Olympiad.

In November 2012 Khanty-Mansiysk will host also world chess women championship bringing together over 60 international players.
