Turkey: Syrian regime "trying to win time"![]() April 10, 2012 - 18:47 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey's deputy prime minister says Syrian forces do not appear to be complying with the cease-fire and are continuing their attacks, especially in the towns of Aleppo, Idlib and Homs, AP reported. Besir Atalay said Turkey relayed concerns to visiting U.N.-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan on Tuesday April 10 that the Syrian regime might just be "trying to win time." He says the U.N. Security Council should intervene to stop the violence if the bloodshed continues. Annan met with Syrian refugees at a Turkish camp in the southern province of Hatay. Atalay announced the number of refugees in Turkey as 24,600. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
