Here representatives of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Prosperous Armenia rival for the victory in May 6 parliamentary election. RPA nominated former environment minister Murad Muradyan, while Prosperous Armenia pushes its MP Tigran Stepanyan. Tensions were so high recently that the two rivaling teams clashed in a central square in Masis in a shooting encounter, Hraparak says. According to the paper, police arrived on the scene late at night; no details of the incident are clear so far. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
