Russia will continue Karabakh settlement efforts - OSCE MG co-chair

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group said that his country adheres to peaceful resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

“Russia will continue active efforts to achieve settlement of the problem,” Igor Popov said in Baku.

He noted that one of the first foreign policy-related decrees by Russian president-elect Vladimir Putin conveyed Russia’s readiness to continue work aimed at Karabakh settlement.

Mr. Popov further said that current issues related to conflict resolution, as well as implementation of the agreements reached after Sochi meeting was in focus of the discussion between OSCE MG co-chairs and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister.

“We dwelt on the agreement-related documents. We also discussed ways to establish humanitarian contacts between conflicting parties and ceasefire violation cases in late April,” Aze.az quoted the Russian co-chair as saying.
