Armenian, Azeri FMs agree to boost trust for progress in Karabakh issue

PanARMENIAN.Net - On June 18, OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs (Ambassadors Robert Bradtke of U.S., Igor Popov of Russia, Jacques Faure of France) and Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk (Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office) met with Armenian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Edward Nalbandian and Elmar Mammadyarov in Paris.

At the meeting, the parties discussed ways to achieve progress in Karabakh conflict settlement, strengthen humanitarian ties, retain cultural and historic values as well as develop mechanisms of investigation of ceasefire violation incidents.

The co-chairs further expressed concern over recent incidents at contact line, stressing the necessity of adhering to 1994’s ceasefire agreement.

The Ministers, in turn, voiced readiness to continue cooperation with OSCE MG to find a peaceful solution to Karabakh issue and take steps to boost trust between the conflicting sides.

In conclusion, the OSCE MG co-chairs expressed intention to travel to South Caucasus in the weeks to come.
