Spain’s economic crisis hinders discussion of Genocide resolution![]() July 28, 2012 - 13:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Discussion over introducing amendments in Spanish parliament’s resolution on Armenian Genocide was delayed because of serious economic situation in Spain, a representative of Hay Dat committee in Barcelona told Nouvelles d’Armenie. According to Armen Sirunyan, the issue was planned to be debated in October. “Despite severe economic situation, Hay Dat committee will continue meeting Spanish MPs to develop new initiatives on Genocide acknowledgement,” he said. “Both Spanish parliamentarians and the country’s community lack in Genocide awareness, with Hay Dat attempting to repair the situation. Dissociation of Spain’s Armenian community is another hindrance in promoting Genocide awareness in Spain,” Sirunyan said.
