Armenian citizen among Sudan air crash victims – Russian Foreign Ministry

PanARMENIAN.Net - An Armenian citizen has been found among Sudan plane crash victims, Russian Foreign Ministry press service reported.

The plane went down in mountains around Talodi, a town in the border state of South Kordofan, while taking a delegation there to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr festival marking the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

“According to Russian embassy in Sudan, crew members including Russian citizen G.V. Semenova, as well as citizens of Armenia and Tajikistan died in the crash,” Russian Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

The country's Guidance and Endowments (religious affairs) Minister Ghazi al-Sadeq was killed in the crash, along with Mahjoub Abdel Raheem Toutou, state minister for youth and sports, and Eissa Daifallah, state minister for tourism, antiquities and wildlife.

Several people associated with the country's military, state security and state media also died in the crash.

Armenian foreign ministry is currently clarifying information on RA citizen’s death in plane crash, ministry representative told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
