Majority of Israelis not worried about Iran strike - poll

PanARMENIAN.Net - The majority of Israelis are not worried about an Iranian preemptive strike on Israel, according to a poll commissioned by the Knesset Channel set to be published Thursday, Oct 4 night, The Jerusalem Post reports.

Fifty-three percent of Israelis said they were not worried about such an occurrence, while 45% said they did fear a strike by the Islamic Republic.

Regarding the likelihood and need for an Israeli strike on Iran, 47% of those polled said Israel does not need to launch a military attack on Iran's nuclear facilities in order to stop it obtaining nuclear weapons. Thirty-five percent said Israel should launch such a strike.

The poll, conducted by Dr. Mina Tzemah, also explored the Israeli public's approval of Defense Minister Ehud Barak's handling of the Iranian issue. The majority of Israelis (47%) are not satisfied with Barak's handling of the issue, while 31% said they were, the poll found.
