Governor of Aleppo Mohammad Walid Aqqad said this aid is a strong evidence of friendly relations between the two nations and thanked the government and people of Armenia for their initiative. For his part, Armenia's Consul in Aleppo Karen Krikorian reminded that during the years of ordeals, the Armenian people found shelter and support in Syria. Director of the Aleppo branch of SARC, Hael Assi, said that distribution of relief is carried out in cooperation with the Armenian Embassy and Armenian Orthodox Archdiocese, and that it will help meet the needs of families whose homes were damaged in hostilities.
