Syrian Armenians’ problems key issue on govt.’s agenda – PM

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan participated in Etchmiadzin-hosted Church Council sitting, led by the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II.

At the sitting, the Prime Minister briefed those present about the stance of Armenian government on a number of issues.

“The problems of Syrian Armenians are in the focus of government’s attention. With several thousand Armenian families having arrived from Syria, we have to do our best to help them start a new life in their native land,” the official said.

The Prime Minister further dwelled on construction of churches as another issue on government’s agenda, noting that resolutions to be taken during the sitting will promote strengthening of Armenian Catholic Church.
