14 suspected PKK rebels killed in Turkey’s southeast

PanARMENIAN.Net - One Turkish soldier and 14 suspected members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party were killed during clashes Nov 8 in the Şemdinli district of southeastern Hakkari, according to Hurriyet Daily News.

Security forces followed an anonymous tip regarding the location of militants, with clashes erupting once they came into contact with militants.

Wounded Turkish Sergeant Seyit Yalçın died in Yüksekova state hospital where he was sent for treatment of injuries he sustained during the violence.

Military perations continue in the area.
