Yerevan State University hosts Model UN Conference

PanARMENIAN.Net - Yerevan State University hosted a Model UN Conference, enabling students to improve their knowledge of the UN values, as well as their negotiation and communication skills.

The event, organized jointly by the UN Department of Public Information and the Yerevan State University in the framework of the Plan for Cooperation between the UNDPI and the YSU, was dedicated to the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and the International Day of Tolerance.

The participants were briefed on the UN Security Council Member States’ positions on the membership of Palestine to the UN.

“Ability to negotiate, find compromises and build consensus will help you become more active members of your communities,” Maria Dotsenko, Representative of the UNDPI Office in Armenia said.

YSU vice-rector on students, alumni and public affairs Ruben Markosyan, in turn, hailed the fruitful cooperation with the UN.

The participants further received certificates of appreciation and awards, press service of UN Armenian office reported.
