HOLLAND SAID «NO» TO EUROPEAN CONSTITUTION, LIKE FRANCE

PanARMENIAN.Net - In the course of a referendum over the European Constitution held in Netherlands yesterday 61% of the Dutch voted against it. Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende was disappointed with the referendum returns. He had stated earlier that «in spite of the referendum returns» he was «not going to retire.» In the opinion of experts, the negative attitude of the Dutch to the European Constitution is conditioned with the threat of worsening of the economic situation, flow of refugees and terrorism. «It is a hard moment for Europe, however Europe will overcome it,» stated PM of Luxembourg presiding the US Jean-Claude Juncker. The referendum will be held in Estonia, Denmark, Ireland, Poland, UK and Portugal, RFE/RL reported.
