OSCE MG Requested Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents for Meeting

PanARMENIAN.Net - The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs requested the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents to organize meetings during the mediators' visit to the region, OSCE MG Russian Co-Chair Yuri Merzlyakov stated. In his words, in the address to the leaders of both states the mediators also expressed wish to hold separate meetings with the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan. He said the meetings may be held in Ljubljana December 5-6. "I do not think the Ministers will refuse to meet with us. We intend to present our new proposals on a number of issues, which are not coordinated yet," Merzlyakov said. When touching upon the consultations held by the mediators in Washington October 24-25, the Russian diplomat noted it was a working meeting targeted at the elaboration of future plans and proposals. "There are some issues the parties disagree on. From time to time we voice opinions on the ways of settling the conflict," he added. The Russian mediator considers that the domestic political agenda of Armenia and Azerbaijan is overloaded at present and it was decided to schedule the visit of the Co-Chairs for mid December.
