9 killed, 27 injured in Iraq car bombings April 17, 2013 - 12:33 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Two car bombings in Iraq have killed nine people and wounded 27, a day after dozens were killed in a spate of attacks across the country, Belfast Telegraph said. One of the blasts happened outside a car repair shop in Aziziyah town, 35 miles south-east of Baghdad. Earlier, a bomb targeting an army patrol north of Baghdad killed two soldiers. The bombings came a day after a string of attacks across Iraq killed 55 people. The assault bore the hallmarks of al-Qaida and appeared aimed at sowing fear days before the first elections since U.S. troops withdrew.   Top stories Authorities said a total of 192 Azerbaijani troops were killed and 511 were wounded during Azerbaijan’s offensive. In 2023, the Azerbaijani government will increase the country’s defense budget by more than 1.1 billion manats ($650 million). The bill, published on Monday, is designed to "eliminate the shortcomings of an unreasonably broad interpretation of the key concept of "compatriot". The earthquake caused a temporary blackout, damaged many buildings and closed a number of rural roads.
