Azerbaijani FM calls for frequent OSCE MG meetings

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met in Baku with visiting OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Leonid Kozhara.

According to the Azerbaijan Press Agency, the parties referred to OSCE-Azerbaijan cooperation, Helsinki +40 process as well as resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Mammadyarov said he will soon meet with the OCSE Minsk group Co-chairs in the near future but the format of the meeting is not determined yet. “It will either be a meeting with the Co-chairs or the mediators will try to organize a ministerial meeting. We are resolved to base on and promote the principles proclaimed by the heads of the OSCE MG co-chair states during the G8 summit,” he said.

The Azerbaijani Minister also called for intensification of the MG activity. “I asked Ukraine, as a country holding the OSCE chairmanship, to make such meetings more frequent,” he said.
