Asia, Pacific region Russia’s top arms supplies destinations: State Exporter![]() November 4, 2013 - 11:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Almost half of all Russia’s military hardware exports are sent to Asian and Pacific region countries, Russia’s state-controlled arms trader Rosoboronexport said Monday, November 4, according to RIA Novosti. Russia is looking to expand its arms exports into non-traditional markets, Viktor Brakunov, a senior Rosoboronexport executive told journalists ahead of a large international arms market in Bangkok. “Almost half of Russian military technology and arms exports arrive in South East Asia or the Asia-Pacific region,” he said. One of the world’s largest exporters of arms, Russia last year sold about $15.7 billion of military equipment. India is one of the top buyers of Russian arms, with Vietnam, Myanmar and Middle Eastern nations also leading customers.
