Ameriabank plans to cross $100 million in retail crediting

PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2014, Ameriabank expanded its range of retail services with new offers, also providing more flexible and transparent terms of service, retail banking director Arman Barseghyan said.

As the bank’s official stated at a September 30 news conference, the bank exceeded a number of important quotas, posting a 65% SME crediting portfolio growth, 50% upsurge in corporate overdrafts and 38% increase in plastic card crediting between August 2013 and August 2014. During the same period, vehicle and mortgage crediting surged by 11 and 8% respectively.

“Retail business crediting grew by $8 million to reach $14 million against August 31, 2013. Plastic card crediting totaled $13 million, up from $9,6 million; vehicle crediting stood at $10,2 million, up from 9,2 million,” he said.

Fixed-period and on-demand deposits showed a growth of 23 and 37% to total over $188 and $41 million respectively as of August 31, 2014. During the same period, the number of plastic debit cards increased by 30%, with the amount of transactions growing by 23%.

In this context, Barseghyan hailed the rate of growth achieved by Ameriabank, which enables improvement of its competitive positions at the market.

He further dwelled on the planned improvement of services in the retail sector and target figures to be achieved by the yearend.

“An over 50% increase is envisaged in our priority line – plastic cards, SME and vehicle crediting, while an average growth of 30% is expected. We're also planning to cross $100 million in retail crediting,” the bank's official said.

Barsegyan also noted that no significant structural changes for credit portfolio are planned, with the bank's strategy continuing to focus on effective management through diversification of risks.
