The offensive at the base in Helmand province started Thursday night and was still going on early Saturday. At least five Afghan troops and nine Taliban fighters were dead in the fighting, according to Omar Zowak, a spokesman for the provincial governor. This is not the first time Afghan insurgents have attacked Camp Bastion, the military base where Britain's Prince Harry was deployed. British troops vacated the base on October 14 and left it in the hands of their Afghan counterparts.
