Drafthouse Films acquires “Klown Forever” comedy sequelSeptember 29, 2015 - 11:09 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Drafthouse Films has once again partnered with Denmark’s Nordisk Film, director Mikkel Norgaard and comedic duo Casper Christiansen and Frank Hvam to release “Klown Forever”, the sequel to 2010’s “Klown”, according to TheWrap. “Klown” follows best friends Casper and Frank as they venture through chaotic social situations. “Klown Forever” picks up five years after the first film, when Casper relocates to Hollywood and strains his relationship with Frank. Frank follows Casper in an attempt to rekindle his friendship, and chaos ensues. “We want to be in the ‘Klown’ business with Frank and Casper as long as they keep making them,” said Drafthouse COO James Emanuel Shapiro. “Without a doubt, these are some of the funniest movies ever made and we are proud to share them with audiences.” “Klown Forever” just opened in Denmark this past weekend and will see a limited theatrical release across North American theaters, with a Blu-ray/DVD release later this year. Drafthouse also released the original film, as well as the Danish television series in 2012. The film is a production of Nutmeg Movies, in collaboration with TV2 Danmark and was produced by Jesper Zartov and Lars Knudsen. Hvam and Christensen executive produced the film. The deal was negotiated by Tim League and Shapiro on behalf of Drafthouse Films and Mike Goodridge, Marta Ravani-Lorber and Vanessa Saal of Protagonist Pictures.
