At the meeting, Sahakyan expressed Armenia’s concern over the developments in Syria. “We are more than friends with Syria that warmheartedly accepted the Armenian Genocide survivors,” Sahakyan noted. Inviting Sahakyan to Syria, al-Laham thanked his colleague for the meeting and asked him to convey President Bashar al-Assad’s gratitude to his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan.
