Azerbaijan violates ceasefire amid OSCE monitoring (Updated)

PanARMENIAN.Net - The OSCE Mission conducted on Tuesday, October 27, a monitoring of the contact line between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan in Martakert-Tartar road section, with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs participating, Karabakh President’s press office reports.

The monitoring was headed by the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk.

Field Assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Khristo Khristov (Bulgaria) and Jiri Aberle (Czech Republic) conducted the monitoring from the positions of the NKR Defense Army.

Field Assistant Yevgeny Sharov (Ukraine) and staff member of the Office Peter Svedberg conducted the monitoring from the opposite side.

During the monitoring, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs and Ambassador Kasprzyk crossed the line of contact from Karabakh to Azerbaijan.

At the end of the monitoring, however, shots fired from submachine guns by the Azerbaijani side were registered.

Representatives of the NKR Defense and Foreign Ministries accompanied the monitoring mission on Karabakh side.

“During our line of contact crossing, repeated gunfire forced OSCE monitors to take cover. This is unacceptable,” the OSCE Minsk Group U.S. Co-chair James Warlick later said in a tweet.
