New EU-Armenia agreement talks set for early DecemberNovember 12, 2015 - 17:24 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The EU-Armenia negotiations on a new cooperation agreement will start in early December, a Deputy Foreign Minister said Thursday, November 12, Tert.am reports. “A delegation from the EU External Action Service recently visited Yerevan for discussions. The negotiations will probably start in early December, with a mutual willingness to launch them by the end of this year,” Karen Nazaryan told a press conference. Commenting on the essential differences between the new deal from the EU-Armenia Association Agreement, the Deputy Minister said the clauses included in the free and comprehensive trade area deal are going to be reconsidered (to ensure compliance with Armenia’s commitments to the Eurasian Economic Union). Achievements in other areas of economic cooperation will be maximally retained, he said. “The economic part will naturally undergo essential changes, with the Economy Ministry still discussing the issue with corresponding EU partners,” Nazaryan added.
