National Defense Research Institute to open in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The government on Thursday, December 24 resolved to open a National Defense Research Institute under Armenia’s Defense Ministry, Tert.am reports.

During the session, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said the university will seek to implement scientific and practical research in the sector of defense for the Armenian military and political leadership, provide higher, postgraduate and supplementary education in defense and security sector, as well as form the senior staff for strategic defense and security sectors.

According to the Minister, a council, comprised of the president and 19 other members, will govern the university.

In this context, Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan noted that the university imposes no additional financial burden on the state.
