Transparency Int'l: Armenia ranks 95th in Corruption Perceptions Index

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia scored 35 points out of 100 in Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index for 2015, dropping 1 position to take the 95th place.

The country shares the same spot with Mali, Mexico and the Philippines.

Public-sector corruption is still a major problem around the world but more countries are improving than worsening, the anti-corruption watchdog said Wednesday, January 26.

This year's index includes 168 countries and territories. A country or territory’s score indicates the perceived level of public sector corruption on a scale of 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean). A country's rank indicates its position relative to the other countries in the index.

Russia sits in 119th place, tied with Azerbaijan, Georgia comes the 48th, Iran is on the 130th, while Turkey ranks 66th.

Denmark remained at the top of the Index for the second consecutive year as the country perceived as least corrupt. It scored 91 points out of a possible 100 while North Korea and Somalia remained at the bottom with unchanged scores of 8.
