U.S. helps preserve medieval church in Armenia’s Meghri

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills, Jr. and acting Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan signed a memorandum to work together to preserve the Saint Sargis medieval church in Meghri, including the restoration of its unique and exquisite frescoes, the embassy said in a Facebook post.

Funding for the project will come from the U.S. State Department’s Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP).

This is the 10th project in Armenia since 2005, and the largest, at $450,000.
