Number of crimes grows by 10.3% year on year![]() December 2, 2016 - 14:38 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 15,461 crimes were registered in Armenia in January-October 2016, up by 10.3% against the same period last year, the National Statistical Service said, putting 2015's figures at 14,015. In the reporting period, 7,585 crimes were registered in Yerevan, a 12.6% increase year on year. Interestingly, the rate of medium-gravity crimes grew by 41% in Armenia, while that of particularly serious crimes is up by 13%. The number of offenses against the person declined by 100 in the first 10 months of 2016, while the number of murders climbed by 21%. Besides, 4,476 theft cases were registered in January-October this year, up by 7.3% compared with the same period in 2015. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
