Dutch want guarantees on Ukraine deal at EU summit: Reuters

PanARMENIAN.Net - Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte wants EU leaders to say on Thursday, December 15 that the bloc's new agreement on closer ties with Kiev covers no extra security or financial obligations, a draft said, Reuters reports exclusively.

The draft decision by EU leaders - seen by Reuters on Monday - has been prepared by the Netherlands, the only EU state that has not ratified the Ukraine-EU association agreement because Dutch voters rejected it in a referendum.

The agreement is being provisionally applied but The Hague said it would strike it down unless EU leaders endorsed additional Dutch demands on Thursday in Brussels.
