Syrian army troops allegedly deploy to front-lines in Idlib and Hama

PanARMENIAN.Net - Several units from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) have deployed to the front-lines in the Hama and Idlib governorate on Thursday, January 10, after the complete collapse of the Turkish-backed rebels in these provinces, Al-Masdar News says.

Speaking to Al-Masdar News from the government stronghold of Mhardeh, a source from the National Defense Forces (NDF) said that several units from the 4th Mechanized Division, 9th Division Shock Troops, and Republican Guard positioned themselves along the front-lines of Hama and Idlib.

The NDF source said the Syrian military has been placed on the high alert in northwest Syria, but they have not been ordered to launch any attack against the militants.

Recently, the Turkish-backed National Liberation Front has surrendered a great deal of the Idlib and Aleppo governorates after their former ally Hay’at Tahrir A-Sham launched a large-scale offensive to avenge the loss of five of their fighters near the town of Dart Izza.
