HIGH FEST 2008 to open in Yerevan Oct. 4

PanARMENIAN.Net - HIGH FEST 2008 International Performing Arts Festival (sixth edition), organized with the assistance of the Armenian Ministry of Culture, will be held in Armenia from Oct. 4 to Oct. 12, Festival Director Arthur Ghukasyan told a news conference today.



Besides the Main Program of HIGH FEST 2008, two Festivals will be held in the framework of the Festival:  International Festival of Puppet and Children Performances (third edition) and ARMS FEST - Armenian International Student and Youth Festival.



There are Two International Festivals in the framework of HIGH FEST International Performing Arts Festival: International Theatre Festival Saroyan 100 (performances based on world famous Armenian-American writer W. Saroyan's dramaturgy) and From Stage To Screen / Film Program / (The festival works on widening of the main meaning of theatre and it gives the audience an opportunity to see the filmed versions of stage masterpieces. There will unique cohesion between screen and stage).



400 participants from 30 countries will be present at the festival.



Renowned playwright Mark Ravenhill together with Armenian actors will represent Paradise Lost performance.
