Armenian community of Iran not endangered

PanARMENIAN.Net - Gevorg Vardanyan, Iranian Parliament Member addressed the Armenian community Sunday to discuss everyday life of the community and development of Armenian-Iranian relations, AFR Dashnaktsutyun PR office told PanARMENIAN.Net



"The Armenian community of Iran enjoys respect and love in the country. For our part, we put all our efforts to protect rights of Armenians in Iran," Vardanyan said.



Commenting on migration flows of Armenians, the MP noted that during the past decades 50000 Armenians emigrated from the country, most of them settling in Armenia.



"More than 1500 Armenians of Iran study at Armenian universities. Considering the circumstances, Armenian community in Iran numbering 100 000 people is not endangered," he said.



Touching upon the Armenian- Iranian relations, Gevorg Vardanyan commented on the important role of the Armenian community in the development and strengthening of relations between Yerevan and Tehran.
