Squad named after Yezidi soldier beheaded by Azeris leaves for Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - A Yezidi squad composed of citizens of Armenia and named after Kyaram Sloyan, a servicemen of the Armenian army has left for Nagorno-Karabakh.

Sloyan was killed during the Four-Day War in April, 2016, after his death he was beheaded, with videos and pictures showing Azerbaijani soldiers posing with his severed head posted on social networks.

In a video published by the Karabakh Defense Army, the troops say their decision to join fighting is a way to not only avenge Sloyan's murder, but also the slaughter of the Yezidis in Iraq "by the same terrorists that are now fighting for Azerbaijan."

Sloyan's elder brother joined one of two other Yezidi squads that left for the battlefield earlier.

Azerbaijan, with help from Turkey and terrorist mercenaries deployed by Ankara, started a war against Karabakh (Artsakh) in the morning of September 27. The Armenian side has reported deaths and injuries both among the civilian population and the military. Foreign and local journalists too have been injured in Azeri shelling of towns and villages.
